Going grey

It's that time where everyone wants something different, a new look and new you for the summer

Going grey it's probably the most longest Change I've done.
Now for me I'm super fussy on my hair and who does it and coming from a hairdresser myself knows the pain of having your hair done wrong.

Having so many changes from having really long hair to having it all chopped off. Too red to brown to copper.

Looking for inspiration on Pinterest is the one, and I mean you can looking for anything you want! From bedroom ideas to nail art.
But looking for hair changes and looks I thought why not, to going GREY!.
I knew it was going to be a hard process because my hair is sooo dark but it was worth a try, lifting it from 5 to a base of a 10 which is a light blonde shade, to be able to achieve the colour, I wanted took time and patiences.

As you can see my as my hair was getting longer the colour was growing out so it was definitely time for a change .

But going grey like I said is a long process but I think in the end it'll definitely be worth it, however my hair went blue which I didn't mind I was all for a change but, I needed to re strip it and make it blonde.

So I would say it took about 2 tries but we are getting there because my hair is so stubborn it just wasn't taking the colour .
But now it's more of an ashy blonde we are slowly getting there (whoop whoop)

Let me know what crazy colour you would love to go ?

Cake pops

Cake pops!

Cause you got that cake cake cake cake,
Yes we all love a bit of cake something sweet, to go with our cup of tea or coffee.

As I had the idea of making these for a baby shower, what not a better way to write a post about it.

Now Looking all over the Internet for a cake pop recipe was a mission and a half (is that the right saying?), I was searching and searching but all the recipes seemed to be using a ready made cake or even baking a cake and then crumbling it up?

But like me I like to start from scratch... and finally finding one after searching for about half hour (relief!)

So the ingredients:
You will need :
180g self raising flour
120g butter
150g caster sugar
1tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
4tbsp milk

For the icing :
You can either get candy melts which I believe you can get from any supermarkets or even Lakeland, but I just used chocolate and sprinkles

Step 1: preheat your oven to 180 degrees or gas mark 4

Step 2:mix the butter and sugar together until it becomes light and fluffy.

Step 3: then go in adding the eggs, vanilla extract, half the milk and half the flour, mix until everything is combined.

Step 4: keep adding the flour and the remaining milk .mix well
*Yes I was lazy and used a mixer instead of a whisk (cheesy grin)

Step 5: With silicone cake mold I had to lightly grease it with a little oil and just dusting some flour over the top, I think this was because I was using them for the first time!

Step 6:Now with the mixture start to fill the cake molds to the top, but be careful not to over fill them. (This I found a messy job) once you have filled them place the top half of the mold on top

Step 7: Finally time for them to bake, place them in the pre heated oven, and cook for 15-20 minutes.
*for me I found it easier placing the mold onto a baking tray and then placing it in the oven.

Step 8: Last but not least DECORATINGGG! wooo, but dont get to excited you need to atleast wait 2 hours for the cake pops to cool down!

*When adding the sticks into the cake pops, if  the pops start to slide just make some butter icing and dip the stick in before putting them into the cake pops, as this will give it some support.

Once they are cool, go ahead and decorate them however you like, for me I just melted some milk chocolate over the cooker and rolled the cake pops into it, then just dipping it into some sprinkles/ hundres and thousands oh and not forgetting the white chocolate stars.

And there we have it your very own cake pops!
For, first time baking these, I thought it wasn't bad, and yes, I didn't have a stand, so I had to stick them in the other cake pops which were left in the mold.

Definitely going to be making these again. They taste sooo good!

BlackPool 2016

This trip to Blackpool was for our competition. This was the national hairdressing federation competition and this is against all the other colleges around the UK I believe and we compete against each other.
our college was in the creative fantasy category!

Sunday 13th march 2016
Today was the day that we left for Blackpool, waking up super duper early in mean half 5 early...to arrive at college to load everything on the coach from our bags to boxes even our head pieces.
we left around 7ish quarter past and took us around 4-5 hours to get there..... long I know!

When arriving at Blackpool we just had to get few bits for the big day! and getting the cab to the town is ridiculously cheap i mean like £3.60 cheap. which i love

Before we left for dinner the sun was setting and if you follow me on inst you would've have seen the same picture, i think there is just one word for this BEAUTIFUL!

2 2 chicken nando! (if you know that song then I *high five* you)
Yes! of course we had nandos for dinner, we took a cab there and after all finished we decided to walk back to the hotel.

Monday 14th march 2016

Today was the big day! competition day of course needing breakfast I went for scrambled egg on toast and a cuppa.
Leaving about 9 I think it was, to arrive at winter gardens in Blackpool. having to take everything off the coach and into the building, and that was a mission! As this year we were upstairs, we were having to take the lift, and by this the lift it was small and by small I mean small, we had to take 3 trips!

Doing all our preparation I wasn't feeling nervous at all I think about an hour also into it, it was getting stressful.
In Blackpool trying to find shops especially wilko......is a mission and an half then realising it was just behind winter gardens *insert laughing face*
It came to about half two and we where nearly there from body painting to having the outfit on.
Half hour later, we had to have the whole headpiece on and the garments, that we were attaching to the head piece even the two balls on the side that we had to grip in.

Having everything on it was time.... we were given our number and ours was no 6.. soon as all the numbers were handed out we had to go into the room (stage), by this point I was so nervous I didn't know what to expect anything could go wrong, from things falling off or the headpiece not sitting right.
Getting the model comfortable is the main thing, but as they had to stand for some time most of them had to sit, also keep giving them with water to stop them from feeling dizzy and faint.

Time was up, quickly getting the head piece of my model, as it was very heavy. Everyone taking pictures felt so real.
By this point making sure everything was packed away so we were ready for the results.

I think there was about, 26 different categories (don't hold me to that one though)
Waiting for the results was so nerverecking it took forever to get to our category. Soon as they said number 26 creative fantasy we were ready! They said 3rd place..... but it wasn't one of us , then 2nd but still wasn't us, by this point I was thinking naaa there is no way one of us have 1st place now.
BUT... there is a BIG BUT soon as they said 1st place "NUMBER 6"! oh my god I just couldn't believe it, i just got so shaky and emosh everyone was screaming and so happy, I just couldn't believe it me and Courtney got first place out of 26 . and by emotional I cried I was just amazed by all the hard work in the past few months put into a few hours and excuse my language *fucking balls* cause we didn't like them.....(getting a bit emosh writing this)
Walking up to collect our prize and trying to take a photo with them I couldn't look because Ii couldn't stop crying it was a massive.. massive achievement! for me , for both of us even.

Walking back to our seats everyone was screaming cheering you name it, hugs all around even tears I was just in such a shock I was speechless.
Everyone in my college done amazingly their work their effort was beyond .......(i cant think a word)
they should've got 2nd 3rd. Their work was just amazing so much time was put into it, everyone in my eyes are winners im just so proud of the girls!

"enough rambling kiri"

Going back to the hotel it was obviously time to celebrate, half of us stayed in having pizza the other half went for a chinese and time for a celebratory drink or two I shall say!

Talking of Chinese who else had to be in the mood for it ? so i decided for a pizza wooo! domions of course.

towards the end of the night I still couldn't believe it, that me a Courtney came 1st in the national competition and won! I still cant. I think it'll be one of the things that will stay with me forever (is that the right saying)

Monday 15th march 2016
Time to head back to landdddaannn!
I think packaging is the worst who else had the problem where going back somewhere your case always seems to not shut?

Anyway breakfast today was a must and yes a fry up was needed! we had to be ready for half 10 to have everything on the coach.
Trying to have a nap and be comfy on a coach, is hard but we had our own seats so that was on the plus side! taking 4 hours or so so get back, plus having a stop aswell, it was around 4ish and we were finally home!

Looking at all the picture I would love to relive that weekend again I had such an amazing time with everyone and definitely as I said will stay with me forever I still cant believe that we won!!!!!

Day trip to portsmouth

So you can probably tell this is a different post from my usual beauty but as I do include some lifestyle I thought why not and do a little post about my trip to Portsmouth.

Now I'm all in for last minute trips. So for my friends birthday we were, originally going to go to Brighton, however that fell through so last minute we decided on Portsmouth. It was a little road trip something different from the usual London trips.

I would say, it was roughly a 2 hour drive and yes when we got then it was sooo windy I could have got blown away, and you know when the wind hits you so hard that you cant breathe? yep that's how windy and cold it was. But I must say it was an amazing day out!

As Portsmouth have outlet stores the first one we had to go to was calvin klein and yes I had to get something. I just got one of their black underwear and honestly they are so comfy.
We must've gone in to every shop but not forgetting cadbury's, now I must admit I bad when it comes to chocolate but hey once in a while is alright(cheeky smile).
While in cadbury I got their dairy milk and wispa biscuits , they were just heaven in a pack!

Spinnaker Tower was so scary to go up but the view was amazing!
I think we were about 350 ft up but don't hold me to that one. Otherwise I can say we were very high up.
The weather wasn't the best but watching the rain drip down and looking out at the view just took me for a moment and made me so calm.
This arty picture has to be credited to one of my friends, at that point I didn't even realised she was taking a picture.

Last thing of the day before we headed back home was food! and yes it had to be wagamamas, who doesn't love wags. When it comes to food I can be indecisive - just never know what to get but I went for the chicken ramen? I don't really go for soup dishes but this wasn't that bad.
(oh and a cheeky green tea)

If you follow me on Instagram then you would've seen a few pictures that I had posted from the day.

Nails Inc the editors edition

Hi guys,

So if you know me, I'm all one for, anything to do with, makeup, hair and nails.

When it comes to nail varnishes or, if most of you say polish I think I own waayyy too many, but on the other hand us girls, can never have enough. We just have to have all those shades of grey, pink, red, blue you name it!

These nail varnishes are the nails inc editors edition* which is in colab with them and westfield.
One thing I have to say about this product is the names, which are to do with London which is one of the things I love about these nail polishes
Left to right
South Kensington - Sliver foil effect polish
Chelsea Embankment- Gold glitter polish
Marylebone Land- Red glitter polish
Porchester Square - Nude/grey toned polish
Park Lane Mews - Deep red polish
Also can we take a moment to adore the packaging.. it's so glittery!

Now recently I'v been opting for more of the nude colours. So I decided to try out the colour in porchester square. Which is a gorgeous grey shade and i just applied 2 coats of this and you're good to go. Then i just went over with a top coat, now you can use any one that your prefer. I used the eve snow top coat

If you're one looking for a nail polish/varnish that is quick drying or just one of those, who are really impatient of waiting for your nails to dry cause I know, I'm one of those people, then honestly these nails inc vanishes are the one, I was sooooo surprised how quick they dried.

Urban Decay Naked Palette

So as you can tell I'm back to blogging, sorry I haven't posted in a while I've been ill and busy with work and college.
I was going to do an empties post but, I think I'm a little late, soo I though why not talk about the urban decay naked palette.

This palette is insane! Now I know why people hype over the naked palettes.
I got this as a christmas gift from one of my friends, so again thank you niamh :)
But anways rolling on...

So first of all can we just take a moment to appreciate the packaging I mean like *insert eye heart emoji*
There are 12 shades in this palette ranging from cool pinks to more warm goldeny colours, also coming with a two sided brush which finally an eyeshadow palette does not come with the sponge ones- you know what I mean the one two flat sponges either side? Those ones. When using this palette for the first time I generally didn't know which colours to use first.

I must say that one thing I love about this eye shadow palette is how pigmented it is, when using this urban decay eyeshadow palette, I've noticed that you don't need a lot of product, which with a lot of eye shadow palettes you have to keep dabbing the brush in, but this one is just one word, amazing!.
You can see from the swatches I've taken how pigmented the colours are.
The swatches are Sin, Half Baked and Smog.

From my point of view I cant say anything bad about this product then It's too good to use!

I can now see why everyone love these naked palettes, I think I might look more into the range.

What are you favourite urban decay products?

Festive Room Ideas

Now usually I don't really decorate my room for Christmas, i normally do everywhere else.
This year I thought why not and get really festive.

Here are some of the thing I decided to use to get me all festive for Christmas

Tinsel- tinsel is one of them you can put it anywhere and everywhere but with me I've just hung it across my wall and around my bed

Another one is fairryyyy lights! I've been looking for fairy lights for a long time, but I've finally found some. These ones I got are from primark for about £6 i think it was and they are just sooo cute. As I have a photo line I just drape it on there, I feel it makes the room even more cosy.

I'm definitely going to be getting some more of this lights.

I know this one isn't a room idea but it's clothing, and its Pjs.
Pjs i think are the one to get all festive there are so many shops that do christmassy ones from: M&S, Tesco, Primark, New look etc etc
But these ones have to be my favourite these are Disney ones with mickey mouse on I just think primark are the ones for Christmas, they probably have everything you need!
How ever I did get some new ones from H&M and they are super comfy!

Last on is Bedding . You can get really christmassy bedding from primark again.
they do some many from pola bears with snow flakes to patterned one with stags on, but however I didn't get any, as the material of the bed sheets wasn't that great. hopefully I can find somewhere else that has festive one otherwise I may have to go back and get them .

I would love to know how you get all festive for christmas.
